Navigating insurance coverage for nutrition services can feel confusing—we’re here to make it simple. At The Consulting RD, we work with major insurance providers to make high-quality nutrition counseling more accessible and affordable for you.

How to Verify Your Coverage

Just because we’re in-network doesn’t always mean your plan includes nutrition counseling. Here’s how to find out what’s covered:

Step 1: Flip Your Insurance Card Over
 Call the Member Services number listed on the back.

Step 2: Ask the Right Questions
 Be sure to ask:

  • Do I have coverage for Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT)?

  • How many visits am I allowed per calendar year?

  • Do I need a referral or prior authorization?

Write down what they tell you—you’ll need this information when booking your appointment.

What If I’m Not Covered?

If your plan doesn’t include MNT coverage, don’t worry—you can still receive services as a self-pay client.

Cash Pay Rates

Initial Consultation: $160

Follow-Up Visits: $80

No payment is required upfront to book your session. A credit card is used only to hold the appointment and will not be charged until after the visit.
